Flower Shortbread Cookies

These shortbread cookies are shaped like cheerful blossoms and are simple yet elegant!



Ingredients:


  • 2 stick unsalted butter (softened)

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 2 cups A.P flour

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • Food coloring of your choice


Directions:


  1. In a bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar until smooth.

  2. Add flour, salt, and vanilla, mixing until a dough forms.

  3. Divide the dough into two portions:

  4. Larger portion: Tint with your food coloring for the petals.

  5. Smaller portion: Leave plain for the centers.

  6. Roll small colored balls (about 1/2 inch) for the petals and roll slightly smaller plain balls for the centers.

  7. Arrange 5 colored balls in a circle on a parchment-lined baking sheet around a plain one and press gently so they stick together.

  8. Chill the shaped cookies in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to hold their shape.

  9. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Bake for 15-20 minutes, until edges are lightly golden but colors remain vibrant.
